Twisting Methods: Part 1 the Parts
THE ART OF THE TWIST
Ok so all you FROed up peeps will give me many of thanks for revealing some very simple techniques used to twist our beautiful manes of hair. Some people will use add on. Some won't. Some people like their twist micro, while others prefer them large. Twists come in all different textures, sizes , lengths and shapes. If you ever wanted to figure out the challenge of the two strand twist...or you are way too lazy to do all that work and just thought it would be cool to know how professionals do it....THIS ARTICLE IS FOR YOU;)
THE BASICS: Tools needed ( Freshly washed and conditioned hair, rat tailed comb , clips or hair ties, and your favorite moisturizer).
So you've had that fro for a while now and you wanted to try this whole two strand twisting thing. I think the most important part of any two strand twisting techniques( or any braiding/twisting/ or locking style for that matter) is just that ...THE PARTS.:)
Basic Box Part
Starting at the nape of the neck use your handy dandy rat tail comb , and take the tail portion of the comb. Gage the size of the twist you would like to have and part horizontally in a straight line . Now simply part from left to right equal sized squares about as wide as you would like each twist would be. Repeat this on entire head...and BAM! THERE YOU GO!.... the box part.:)
Traingle/Peak Parting
Now here is where the parting gets a little on the advanced side , but I will explain as best as possible. That same process you took to start the box part ( parting how much you want horizontally). Instead of squares we will part at a 45 degree angle right. The second part will mirror the first part .You will part the second part at a 45 degree angle left. Repeat this process throughout the entire head and viola ....DONE:)
Half Moon Parting
Imma let her do all the explaining on this one lol:)

10 tips for overcoming Stress
1. Recognize the source of your stress. Make a list of the problems and circumstances that is the cause of the stress. Are you stressed about your children’s activities, responsibilities at home or your work, a job loss, your marriage, financial problems and a specific person? Whatever it is, write it down to clear your mind.
2. Make time for yourself everyday. You can create a quiet place where you can go away for fifteen minutes to half an hour every day. This is a place where you can be alone, where you can get away from the pressures of the day, and away from the noise so you can think clearly and just relax.
3. Take a day off just to relax. - You can use this day to go to the lake, beach or just a drive through the country. You can just do something that you enjoy like reading, shopping or a specific hobby.
4. Control your time so it doesn’t control you. A day with too much to do can make you feel stressed and anxious. Prioritize your time and create a list of all of the things you have to do for that day. Then, determine what needs to done first, what seems minor and what does not require your time immediately. Concentrate on one task at a time. If there are work or tasks that are not completed, do not be stressed about it.
5. If you are highly involved in many activities, consider eliminating some of those activities or saying no to new commitments to reduce the stress in your life. You need to evaluate what specific activities and commitments that are the result of your stress. Whether it is taking your children to a sports team, any club you are involved, community events or whatever it is, learn to do less and reduce stress.
6. Laughter really is the best medicine. It releases feel good chemicals in your brain and enhances blood flow. Laughter can relieve stress. Learn to laugh more and watch comedies and shows that will make you laugh more.
7. Get a regular exercise weekly- Physical activity can lower your stress level and keep stress under control. You can run, jog, walk, dance, do aerobics and get involved in a sports team.
8. Plan to help others a few times a week. Your own worries will look smaller when you get involved with helping others.
9. Get plenty of rest and sleep at night. Keep a regular time to go to bed every night.
10. Take a hot bath and listen to soothing music

APPLE CIDAR VINEGAR , OLIVE OIL, & CLARIFYING SHAMPOO : Tool kit for healthy hair success
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) rinses are one of most cost-effective and beneficial ways in existence to improve hair health. A good ACV rinse can remove product buildup, restore the pH balance of the scalp and hair, promote blood circulation in the scalp--which can stimulate new hair growth--and give the hair a soft, healthy sheen.
For maximum benefit, some proponents advocate use of only raw, organic and unfiltered vinegar rather than the "sparkling clear" vinegar you usually find on the grocery store shelves. And some individuals also choose to add a base including additional ingredients such as aloe vera, agave nectar, essentials oils, etc. to their ACV rinses as well.
Caution: ACV is an acid and over 100 times more acidic than your hair... SO BE CAREFUL. Acids can and will start to degrade your hair shaft with overuse, so pay strict attention to your hair's reaction to frequent ACV rinse use.
Depending on your hair texture and porosity, you may be able to support a greater amount/frequency of usage than others can, but please judge your needs carefully.
I usually advise one part apple cider vinegar for every 3 parts of water. You can make adjustments as needed for your hair type.
CLARIFYING SHAMPOO
Clarifying shampoo is simply any non color based gentle shampoo that does not leave build up in the hair.A clarifying shampoo can help remove deposits of waxes, chemicals, and other buildup to give your hair a fresh start, and restore shine. The type of shampoo can be found at any hair supply store and is usually on the inexpensive side. Some brands being as low as 99 cents.
OLIVE OIL
Once the cleaning and conditioned process is complete , most hair types are served well by added a non petroleum based moisturizer . My personal favorite is olive oil ( yep that stuff you cook with). You can add as much or as little as you need for your hair type. The basis for using this type of moisturizer instead of others is the fact that many greases/waxes/pomades actually clog hair's pores leaving buildup and hinders the growing process. Olive oil ( canola oil has a similar effect) is gentle and moisturizes the hair with out all the negative side effects. You can even add small drop of your favorite fragrance to add a little kick to your hair style. Heck some even use olive oil as an effective body moisturizer as well.:)
Now that you have the basic tool kit for healthy hair, RUN.... BE FREE....and ENJOY the marvels of such simplicity and loads of money saved by sticking to the basic yet effective ways of taking care of the Natural you:)
